Laura Gardner, CMP is the Corporate Sales Manager for Destination DC (Washington, DC Convention and Visitors Bureau), and has been for the last 4 years. Previous to Destination DC she has worked for Visit Charlotte, Marriott International, and Hilton Hotels.  She grew up in the DC region, and went to Virginia Tech, where she graduated with a Hospitality Tourism Management Degree.  Laura has been a member of PMPI for four years, and was the Co-Chair for the Community Outreach Committee from 2008-2011.  She is extremely excited in taking on the Member Care role, and working with the chapter board and entire membership.  She currently lives in Kensington, MD with her husband, and two sons.  She loves to read, bake, and sleep (when allowed). 

Home Town: Hometown – Derwood, MD (practically Rockville for those who haven’t heard of Derwood).

Favorite Season: Fall, which is also coincidentally when College Football starts - Go Hokies!! 

Definition of Leadership:
One who guides, or inspires others.  That is what I will try to embrace in this coming year.
