Margaret Miller, Strategic Sales Executive, joined the Association sales team for Experient in September 2006. Margaret is responsible for working with Association customers in representing Experient’s integrated event solutions with a focus on event management services, hotel contracting, and registration and housing services. Her experience also includes nineteen years in national association group and transient sales with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, and Disney Resorts. Margaret is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Restaurant and Hotel Industry Management. Margaret is a member of the Potomac Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (PMPI) where she received the 2009-2010 Distinguished Leaders Award for her work within the chapter. Margaret has served in numerous chapter leadership positions for PMPI from 2005-2010.

Home Town: Fairfax, Virginia.

Favorite time Spent: Are my three standard poodles, Hudson, Maggie and Emma and spending time with them at my home.

Definition of Leadership: My definition of leadership follows the way of Ernest Shackleton` the discoverer - in that leadership is not necessarily a goal , but rather it is about spurring others to achieve, and to help them manage and use their passion and strengths to achieve what they want. Also, when you are in a leadership role I think it is important to surround yourself with people who are going to lift you higher and who have different strengths than your own so that you can always be learning from others.
