Michelle Allgauer, CMP, CMM, CAE brings more than twenty years of valuable experience within the meetings industry, with a strong focus on conference and program management. She is currently Director of Education for the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA).
Michelle is passionate about the meetings profession and a strong advocate for professional development. She supports her beliefs with her personal efforts and inspires others with her determined pursuit of highly regarded certifications.
She has received the following certifications: Certified Meeting Professional (CMP); Global Certification in Meeting Management (CMM), Business of Meetings Certification (BOM) and Certified Association Executive (CAE).
Since joining Meeting Professionals International (MPI) in 2004, Michelle has been an active participant in the community and the meetings industry. She is the Immediate Past President of PMPI and has served the chapter in a number of leadership roles including Vice President of Education, Board Director for Professional Development, and Co-Chair of the Women’s Leadership Committee.
She has received several awards from PMPI for her achievements, including President's Award (2008) and Star of the Month Award (2007). Most recently, Michelle participated on MPI’s International 2010-2011 Governance and Nominating Committee and has been selected to participate as a member on the 2011-2012 Knowledge Advisory Council.
Home Town:
Favorite Place: Lake Tahoe. Franklin and I were married on top of a mountain overlooking the Lake. Each year we vacation here, in the summer you’ll find us biking the Flume Trail, hiking and running on trails and when there is snow we are snowmobiling and skiing.
Leadership Is:
- Setting goals to help define your success (looking at your goals often and ensure your actions are in line with your goals) and then taking action. Without defined goals, you don’t have a focus driving your efforts.

- Pushing beyond your comfort zone
- Asking “what if ?”
